Mr. Jeffrey M. Stanton was named Superintendent of Buckeye Local School District in
August 2023, and brings to the school district over thirty years of wide-ranging teaching
and educational leadership expertise. Jeff began his career as a teacher in the
Youngstown City School District in the 1990’s and has worked in a variety of leadership
roles as a teacher, coach, athletic director, assistant principal, principal and personnel
director in Greater Cleveland area school districts since 1995. Among many of Jeff’s
strengths lie his specific expertise in personnel, curriculum, teaching and learning, and
strong positive relationship building skills. Jeff is a collaborative leader who likes to say
he always tries to “Lead with Yes!” He is thrilled to be the Superintendent of Buckeye
Local Schools and believes he has found his dream educational leadership role.
Jeff graduated from Cleveland State University with a Bachelor Degree in History, with a
focus on earning licensure as a grade 7-12 teacher of Comprehensive Social Studies,
Political Science, and History. He earned his Master’s Degree in Educational
Administration from John Carroll University, and earned an Ohio Superintendent
License from Cleveland State University. Jeff also served as a successful coach at the
high school and middle school levels during his early teaching career, helping many
student-athletes enjoy the activity while also achieving high levels of success.
Jeff is passionate about students, staff, community, student learning and school safety
for all. Collaborative leadership with a never-ending focus on what is best for students,
in conjunction with a growth mindset and a constant stride for professional growth are
core values for Jeff. His love for public education and for helping students and staff
achieve to their highest potential and beyond are driving forces for him.
Jeff’s vision and plan for Buckeye Local School District is to always respect the glory
and history of the school community, while also spearheading and coordinating a plan to
move the district forward. These areas include curriculum, student learning, facilities,
operations, and fiscal stewardship of the community resources. Together we will
continue making Buckeye Local School District a destination school district not only in
Medina County, but in the region and state as well.
Jeff is the proud father of his son Riley who attends The Ohio State University. Jeff
currently resides in Avon but intends to move closer to the Buckeye townships as soon
as he can this school year, and will always be eager to meet as many students and staff
as possible each and every day as the Superintendent. Please feel free to reach out to
